Hannya and Maple Leaves

An older photo showing part of my 1/2 sleeve along with my chest piece.

About Hanya:

Traditionally the Hannya is a demon who was once a beautiful young woman turned, by rage and jealousy, into a horned monster. As is seen in many creatures of Japanese mythology, the Hannya may change her form to meet her needs. She can be found in many stories, often times appearing as a young woman until she reveals her true nature in the end.

On Tattoos and Mythology

First off, a little background:

I am 27 years old, a photographer, less than devout Buddhists with Shinto and Christian Tendencies and I love tattoos and Japan. More-so I love the art and mythology of Japan. It is for that reason that I have decided to cover my body with images and figures from Japanese mythology. As this project progresses, I will include updates, images, and thoughts and stories relevant to characters and images being tattooed. All of my work that I will be sharing is done by Stacy McCleaf of Chrome Gardens Body Art in Gettysburg, PA. If you like what you see, feel free to show her some love at her Studio, or on her Personal page.

Thanks for stopping by, I look forward to having you along for the journey.
